This course is open to anyone desiring to learn Cotton Theory Quilting. Certification is optional.

Becoming certified signifies your mastery of the quilting techniques integral to the revolutionary Quilt First-Then Assemble methods of the Cotton Theory. Impress your family, your friends and yourself by achieving the distinction provided by certification.

Gain confidence in your abilities and master a variety of specialized sewing and quilting maneuvers, including the "One-Way Street," the "Highway," and much more. Best of all, this training and certification course is presented with hands-on, step-by-step instruction from Betty Cotton.

Cotton Theory Camp & Certification is a 5-day event (5 modules) where you will work on and complete 5 specialized projects. Each module builds upon your knowledge and the techniques of prior modules.

Basic Modules
MODULE A: Basics of the Cotton Theory, including the Highway and the One-Way Street; concepts of reversibility, including three-dimensional presentation; use of the Adhesive Quilting Guide and a variety of threads and needles; pressing; layering; and cutting.

PROJECT: WALL HANGING
MODULE B: More techniques, including borders, decorative stitch quilting, alternating folds on both sides, and Highway Binding.

PROJECT: BATH MAT
Advanced Modules
MODULE C: Quilted embroidery, introduction to the Freeway technique, and applying a label.

PROJECT: TABLE TOPPER
MODULE D: Bobbin work in conjunction with quilted embroidery, applying reversible binding, and working with ribbon and yarn.

PROJECT: TOTE BAG
MODULE E: Quilted applique in conjunction with bobbin work, plus introduction to the Turnpike technique.

PROJECT: BUTTON-BACK TABLE RUNNER

Cotton Theory Camp & Certification is a one-of-a kind course tailored to provide instruction and training to persons interested either in becoming a certified instructor of the Cotton Theory™ or in achieving recognition for demonstrated abilities in selected areas of the Quilt First-Then Assemble™ methods of the Cotton Theory, or both.

The course is taught by Betty Cotton, creator of the Cotton Theory.
