Quilting Classes
at Quilt Yard
Classes are held at Quilt Yard. Supply lists will be given to participants upon registration. Space is limited.
Fabrics, books, and booklets are not included in the class fee unless otherwise specified. Precut kits are available. During day-long sessions, lunch and refreshments also will be provided.

Courthouse Combo Three-Block Table Runner
You can never have too many table runners! In this class we will make a three-block runner from the Cotton Theory booklet Courthouse Combo. The runner is a variation of a traditional log cabin with setting triangles -- you will want one for every season! Finish this project with a no-fail binding when you learn the magic triangle. This class will be held in two sessions so that you will have a completed project. Remember the holidays are coming, this runner would be a great gift, maybe for yourself!
Dates: Thursdays -- September 23 and October 7
Time: 10am - 3:30pm (Please bring your own lunch)

Quilt Yard Embroidery Club
Smith Street Designs Fancy Stitchin'
Get the most from your embroidery machine. Tips, tricks, and new ideas will be presented while you work on various projects and techniques. During the first three months you will be working with "Fancy Stitchin" - an embroidery design you will be stitching out to create a quilted wall hanging or table topper. All stitches are done in the embroidery hoop and the results are beautiful.
Dates: Mondays -- September 13, October 11,
November 29, and December 13
Time: 9:30am - 12pm

The Best of Bobbin Work
Bobbin Work Class
Does bobbin work often seem difficult or too scary to try? Then this class is for you! Take the fear out of bobbin work with this techniques class. You will learn how to adjust your bobbin case and try various threads, yarns, and ribbons in your bobbin as you sew! Hooped embroidery bobbin work will also be demonstrated. Just bring your machine and spend some time playing with this technique.

Betty Cotton will host another year-long Cotton Theory Club. You will learn the basics and beyond of reversible and dimensional quilting. 2009 project will be a bed-sized log cabin quilt with a new twist on quilting.
Fee: $99.00, 3rd Saturday of each month, Jan. - June or July - Dec.

Chris Ludwig will help you create beautiful embroideries using your computer and 4-D Suite. The possibilities are endless!
Fee: $20.00 per month, 2nd Wednesday of each month.

- Paper Piecing Block-of-the-Month
Perfect points every time! Make a new paper-pieced star block each month with Sandy and Debbie. Can be constructed with Cotton Theory Quilting.
Fee: $20.00 per month, Last Saturday of each month.

Join Norma and Friends again for an educational and exciting year with new projects to discuss, monthly prizes, and great show-and-tell.

- Hand Applique Block-of-the-Month
Terri Woodford is the hand applique Queen! Pattern includes all 12 blocks. Kits available for each month.
(Required: Fit to be framed #6 Pattern)
2009 embroidery will feature machine applique all in the hoop. Jenn Haskins, Color Purple, Next Generation will be the design set for creating 18" blocks using applique, and decorative stitches all by the push of a button.
